Back in the present time, Lorena breaks into Bill's room at the hotel. She holds Bill hostage there. As Sookie is in danger, Bill attempts to escape many times, only to be held back by Lorena as she - as his maker - is stronger.
Los Angeles, 1935. Lorena and Bill are still entrapping people, using the vampire "glamour" and draining their blood. However this time, Bill releases the showgirl Lorena has brought them, resulting in an argument. Bill is balking against their lifestyle, saying he is sick of the bloodbaths and the needless taking of human lives. He tells Lorena that he can't do this anymore and turns to leave. Lorena - with vampire speed - picks up a heavy art deco lamp and throws it forcefully at Bill ... who - with equal vampire speed - catches it before it can harm him.
Back to the present and Bill is still trapped with Lorena in his hotel room. She pins him against the door with a wooden stake ... and flashes back to 1935. Lorena is shouting at Bill for wanting to throw away everything that they've built up in the last few decades. Bill asks Lorena to release him - she refuses and a heated argument takes place. The argument culminates in Bill taking a shard of wooden table leg and threatening to kill himself. Lorena's love for Bill overcomes her anger and she releases him. The present again and Lorena is still holding Bill captive. This time, the telepathic bellboy knocks on the door, Lorena silences Bill before he can shout for help and the bellboy passes a message to Lorena about Sookie in danger. Eric - with his enhanced vampire hearing, overhears the message from the next room and leaves to rescue Godric.
